Jev Companion enters TestFlight

Jev Companion — a macOS and iOS field guide, setup assistant and live console for TypeSafe AI's Jev decision model — is now in beta, and we are taking TestFlight requests.

Jev Companion, our companion app for TypeSafe AI's Jev decision model, is now in beta on TestFlight for both macOS and iOS. Version 1 is feature-complete and in App Store review; while it waits, a small group of testers is using it and telling us what to fix.

What it is

Jev is not a chatbot and not a model on your device. You send it a state and typed questions, and it answers with typed values: a choice from a set you defined, a score on a scale you set, and a full probability distribution with a confidence you can branch on. That makes it a good fit for the decisions software usually hands to a person — triage, guardrails, moderation, severity, whether a claim is actually supported.

The hard part is not the API call. It is learning the primitives, phrasing a question so the answer is usable, and deciding what to do when confidence is low. Jev Companion teaches that, sets it up, and then lets you make real requests.

What is in it

  • A 21-chapter guide across four tracks — Learn, Set Up, Techniques and Reference — from the mental model through to the exact request and response shapes. It works offline and needs no key.
  • A Set Up assistant that takes your TypeSafe API key, keeps it in the device Keychain, and tests the connection against GET /v1/models.
  • A live console for authoring a state and composing Choice, Score and Noul questions, with confidence bands, the full distribution, score legends and copyable raw JSON. Five templates ship with it, and a sample response lets you explore the whole console without a key.

Request an invite

The beta is open to a small group, and both platforms share one build. Tell us your name and where to send the invite — company optional — on the Jev Companion page, and we will add you to the TestFlight group. The install steps are on the same page.

Jev Companion collects nothing and reports nothing to us: there is no account and no server of ours in the path, and text you choose to send goes straight from your device to TypeSafe under your own account. The privacy policy has the detail.

Jev Companion is independent — not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TypeSafe AI.
