Jev Companion

A field guide, setup assistant and live console for Jev, TypeSafe AI's hosted System One decision model — built for macOS and iOS, and now in beta on TestFlight.

Status: in beta on TestFlight. The app is feature-complete for version 1 and in the hands of early testers while it clears App Store review. Request an invite below and we will email one to you.

What Jev is

Jev is not a chatbot and it is not a model running on your device. You send it a state — the facts of a situation — plus typed questions, and you get back typed values rather than prose: a choice from a set you defined, a score on a scale you set, and a full probability distribution over the outcomes, with a confidence you can branch on.

That shape makes Jev useful for the decisions software usually leaves to a human — triage, guardrails, moderation, severity, whether a claim is actually supported. The hard part is not the API call. It is knowing the three primitives, how to phrase a question so the answer is usable, and where confidence should send you down a different path.

Jev Companion is the app that teaches all of that, sets you up, and then lets you make real requests.

What is in the app

The guide

Twenty-one chapters across four tracks — Learn, Set Up, Techniques and Reference — from the mental model and the three primitives through to the exact request and response shapes and the official cookbooks. It works offline and needs no API key.

Set Up assistant

Paste your TypeSafe API key, pick a model, and test the connection against GET /v1/models. The key is stored in the device Keychain — never in a file, never synced to iCloud by us, never sent to 1337-Software.

Console

Author a state as text or named fields, compose Choice, Score and Noul questions, and send a real request. Answers arrive with confidence bands, the full distribution, score legends and copyable raw JSON. Five worked templates ship with it, and a sample response lets you explore the whole console with no key at all.

Request a TestFlight invite

The beta is open to a small group while version 1 is in review. Both platforms are in the same build: macOS and iOS. Tell us who you are and where to send the invite, and we will add you to the TestFlight group. Already invited? The install steps are just below.

We use these details for one thing only: sending you a TestFlight invite and supporting you while you test. No newsletter, no list, no sharing. Ask us to delete them at any time — see the privacy policy.

Installing the beta

Jev Companion reaches your device through Apple's TestFlight — there is no download on this page. Once you have asked for an invite we add you to the tester group; Apple reviews the first build of a version, and TestFlight then emails you an invitation, usually within a few hours.

  1. Install TestFlight. It is free from the App Store on iPhone and iPad, and from the Mac App Store on a Mac.
  2. Open the invitation on that device. TestFlight sends it to the address you gave us, so the device must be signed in with that Apple ID. Tap Accept. If it has not arrived, check the spam folder.
  3. Install the build. Tap Install, then Open. You do this once — later builds update themselves through TestFlight.

Needs iOS 18 or later, or macOS 15 or later. Nothing else is required to review it: the guide and the introduction work offline, and the console has a sample response you can explore without a key. Only the live console needs your own TypeSafe key, which stays in your device's Keychain.

If something does not work

  • "This beta isn't accepting any new testers right now." The build is still in Apple's Beta App Review. The invitation starts working by itself once it clears — there is nothing to change on your side.
  • Nothing appears in TestFlight. TestFlight on that device is signed in as a different Apple ID than the one we invited. Sign in with the invited address, or tell us the other address and we will add it.
  • A build disappeared. TestFlight builds expire after 90 days. Open TestFlight and install the current one.

Your data

The app collects nothing and sends nothing to us. There is no 1337-Software account, no analytics and no server of ours in the path. Text you choose to send goes directly from your device to api.typesafe.ai under your own TypeSafe account. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
